For most HDB homes, standard installation is included as part of your purchase for concrete ceilings up to 2.8m. Power will be connected to the nearest suitable lighting point using PVC trunking, or to a nearby power socket if plug connection is preferred. The connection point should be within the same room and should not require wiring through another wall or area.

Special conditions such as HDB Executive Maisonette double-height ceilings or installation areas with false ceilings may require bracket installation. Please refer to the HDB Maisonette or False Ceiling guide if this applies to your home.

For concealed wiring, please arrange your electrician or contractor to prepare the concealed point before our installation appointment, as a second trip may incur additional charges.

If you are boxing up pipes or building cabinets, please keep at least 60cm width available so the rack can extend properly above your washing machine.

Wall bracket installation is usually used for double-volume ceiling areas, such as HDB maisonettes or landed outdoor spaces, where the ceiling height is beyond the standard 1200mm suspension rod installation range.

In this setup, the Steigen system is mounted directly to a wall using aluminium L-brackets. For safety and stability, the bracket length is limited to 600mm or 700mm to securely support the unit and laundry load.

The installation wall must have enough vertical clearance for the rack to move up and down freely. It should also be a solid wall that can hold anchor bolts securely. Hollow blocks, lightweight bricks, or weaker wall materials may not be suitable.

As wall material is not always visible from the surface, this can usually only be confirmed during drilling. Such cases are rare, and our team will assess the site and recommend a suitable adjustment where possible.

For normal kitchen installations or low-ceiling maisonette areas, wall bracket installation is usually not required.

Most condo kitchen areas are false ceiling, especially kitchens or areas connected to the kitchen.

Quick check: If your ceiling has downlights, access panels, box-up areas, or sounds hollow when tapped, it is likely a false ceiling.

If your ceiling is solid concrete with no ceiling board above, and the height is below 2.8m, it is usually standard concrete ceiling installation, which is free.

For false ceiling installation, a $150 bracket fee applies.

Steigen is mounted using 4 stainless steel suspension rods anchored directly to the concrete slab above the false ceiling. The false ceiling itself does not carry the weight.

The ceiling gap should be within 1200mm, which most condo kitchens are. If there are hidden ducts, pipes, or trunking above the false ceiling, the position may need to be adjusted slightly.

Please do not add wooden support above the false ceiling. For safety, we only mount directly to the concrete slab.

These cases are uncommon, and our team will advise the safest installation option on site.

For condo service yards, installation usually falls under standard free installation when the ceiling is concrete and the height is below 2.8m.

An additional bracket may be required if:

- The ceiling height is more than 2.8m
- The ceiling is uneven
- There is a false ceiling

The additional bracket charge is $150.
